Financing a
Flooring Project
The Foothills Flooring Company is a flooring contractor, not a lender. For Hickory-area homeowners who would rather spread the cost of new floors, here is how it works.
We Do Not Finance In House
The Foothills Flooring Company installs hardwood, luxury vinyl plank, carpet and commercial flooring. We are not a lender. There is no in-house payment plan, no store card and no financing desk. We quote the work, and anything to do with borrowing happens between you and a lender.
For homeowners who would rather spread the cost of a project than pay for it outright, one lender many people use for home-improvement projects is LightStream.
You Deal With the Lender Directly
You apply with LightStream yourself, at lightstream.com. The Foothills Flooring Company takes no part in the application, never sees your financial information and has no say in the decision.
Rates, terms, fees and eligibility are set by the lender, and they change. We don’t publish them here, because any figure on this page would be out of date soon after it was written. Read the current terms on the lender’s own site before you commit to anything.
If a loan is approved, it is a loan to you. We invoice you for the flooring work exactly as we would for a customer paying any other way.
Four Things to Sort Out Before You Borrow
Get the free estimate and written quote first
Our free on-site estimate gives you an accurate measurement, a subfloor check and a written number. Borrowing against a firm figure is a very different exercise from borrowing against a guess, and the estimate costs nothing either way.
Ask whether the loan is secured, and against what
Home-improvement lending comes in both forms. A secured loan is tied to an asset; an unsecured one is not. It changes what is at risk if circumstances change, and it is a question for the lender, not for us.
Compare the total cost, not the monthly payment
A longer term lowers the monthly figure and raises what the project costs in the end. The number that matters is what you will have paid when the last payment clears.
Consider doing it in phases instead
Borrowing isn’t the only way to make a bigger project manageable. Flooring phases well: the kitchen and main living area first, bedrooms or the basement later, with the same product and transitions planned from the start so it all matches when it’s finished. Plenty of our customers do it that way, and nobody pays interest.
Start With the Number
Before financing is worth thinking about, it’s worth knowing what your project actually costs. With 15 years of experience and hundreds of completed projects, we’ll measure your space, check the subfloor and leave you a clear written estimate — no charge and no obligation.
For a rough idea before we visit: as of fall 2026, typical installed prices in the Hickory area are $4.50–$7.00 per square foot for most LVP jobs, $8–$11 for engineered hardwood, $10–$14 for solid site-finished hardwood and $3.50–$5.50 for carpet. A 500 sq ft LVP project, for example, typically runs about $2,250–$3,500 installed before add-ons. The full table is on our flooring prices page.
